Thea's Song: The Life of Thea Bowman was released by Orbis Books January 30, 2010. It's the life story of an amazing African-American woman who was born in Mississippi, went as a young girl to be a nun in Wisconsin, became a Faulkner expert, incredible singer, and most important, a bridgebuilder among cultures. Tragically, she got cancer when she was in her 40s, in the mid-1980s. That cancer wouldn't stop her, though, as she became famous throughout the United States as a witness for black identity, intercultural awareness, and, ultimately, for living life to its very fullest, even in the face of cancer.
This site will be a clearinghouse not only for the book, but also for links and points of interest about the life of one of the amazing women of our time: Sister Thea Bowman.
